Good Neighbors Home Repair

Web Package Brand Strategy

Good Neighbors Home Repair helps low-income families and individuals by making their homes warmer, safer, drier, and healthier.

“Everyone should have a safe place to live.”

Good Neighbors Home Repair, a small nonprofit in Chester County, Pennsylvania, helps create safer homes by making them warmer, drier, and healthier places to live for low-income individuals and families. With an impressive thirty-year track record of working in the local community, the organization has proven its impact. What it needed was a stronger web presence to support this good work.

Process

TidyCo took inventory of the existing Good Neighbors website. While it included all the necessary information, the site would benefit from telling a clearer story. We got to work.

We started with reorganizing the homepage to include the mission of Good Neighbors, videos of homeowner experiences, and testimonials. We changed the navigation to more directly meet the needs of the end user, whether a homeowner, volunteer, or donor. We updated the visual identity throughout the site, adding new photography and graphics, and streamlined signup forms and copy where needed. On all pages, we added clear CTA buttons for email signup, volunteer links, and ways to give.

Results

After implementing the strategic changes recommended by TidyCo, Good Neighbors Home Repair experienced a transformation in its online presence and user engagement. The revamped website not only communicated the organization's mission more effectively but also enhanced its usability, engagement, and overall aesthetics. Here are the notable results achieved:

  1. Enhanced Usability: The reorganized homepage and streamlined navigation significantly improved the user experience. Visitors can now easily find relevant information, whether they are homeowners seeking assistance, volunteers looking to contribute, or donors wanting to support the cause. This intuitive structure has led to longer average session durations and reduced bounce rates.

  2. Clearer Mission Communication: The new homepage design prominently features the mission of Good Neighbors Home Repair, ensuring that visitors immediately understand the organization's purpose and impact. The addition of videos showcasing homeowner experiences and authentic testimonials has effectively conveyed the positive changes brought about by the organization, fostering stronger emotional connections with the audience.

  3. Engaging Visual Identity: The updated visual identity, including new photography and graphics, has breathed new life into the website. The vibrant imagery captures the essence of the organization's work, evoking a sense of empathy and compassion. This visual transformation has played a key role in keeping visitors engaged and interested in exploring the site further.

  4. Relevant Call-to-Action Buttons: The incorporation of clear and strategically placed call-to-action (CTA) buttons has had a profound impact on user interaction. These buttons, such as email signup, volunteer links, and donation options, have made it convenient for visitors to take meaningful actions aligned with their interests. This strategic approach has led to increased engagement with these critical conversion points.

  5. Improved Aesthetics: The overall aesthetic of the website has undergone a significant upgrade. The modern and visually appealing design has elevated the organization's online presence, making a positive impression on both new and returning visitors. The improved aesthetics reflect the professionalism and dedication of Good Neighbors Home Repair, inspiring trust and credibility.

The organization now boasts a more usable, visually appealing, and mission-focused online platform that effectively engages users and encourages them to take meaningful actions.
